Playa Paraiso and Tulum Beach were my favourite Beaches in Mexico, when I spent there some days in November 2016.
I didn’t have a car so I couldn’t go further down to the South from Playa del Carmen. Originally I wanted to go to Akun Beach, more far, but it would have been too complicated to go there. So rather Playa Paraiso was the one I visited.
It is easy to get there, just take a collectivo from near the 5a Avenida, the famous shopping street, it is about $50-60 MXN. Not more than 30 minutes to get there, Playa Paraiso is near Tulum, about 60 kilometers far from Playa del Carmen. Then further by taxi it must cost 5$ to get to this magical beach.
White sand, shallow water about 25C, palm trees, sun and with one word a Paradise (Paraiso) waits for everyone here.
You can walk along the beach for a long time, further South and backwards North towards Tulum too.
Directly to the Tulum Beach, which is like in postcards, you can’t go on the beach. You must buy a ticket to the Archeological Park of Tulum and so you can go down there. It is worth the price too (when I went there it cost 65 MXN).
